Joal-Fadiouth (Mbour), Dec. 8 (APS) - Customs’ officers of the Joal-Fadiouth sea brigade seized 500 kg of hemp, an estimated market value of 30 million CFA francs, learned the APS.
During a press briefing, the head of brigade, Lieutenant Jean-Emile Samba Diatta, said that this important seizure was made during a routine patrol, on Thursday, around 08: pm, at the '' Red Bench '', an area located towards “Bird Island”.

On Wednesday November 29th the Customs General Director, Mr. Oumar Diallo and the Head of Treasury Department, Cheikh Tidiane Diop, visited the international airport Blaise Diagne along with their delegation.
The purpose of the visit was to check if the readiness of all services were set before the opening of the new airport on December 7th. The two General Directors expressed their satisfaction regarding the high quality of the airport structure and congratulated authorities and the AIBD’s Administration for completing this important project.

The Customs General Directorate informs that its services will be opened starting from Thursday December 7th, 2017 at the Blaise DIAGNE International Airport (AIBD).
As customs is aware of the need of simplifying and facilitation procedures and requirements for simplification and procedures facilitation. For, in collaboration with the AIBD general Directorate, they set up an operational mechanism for an effective service of the new airport’s infrastructure.

On Wednesday 4th October, 2017, 20 kilograms of cannabis, had been seized by Kidira customs’ officers. The cannabis were carried on a Malian public bus, from Bamako.
The total value is estimated at 1,200,000 FCFA. The driver and his assistant had been detained for interrogation.

On October 11th, 2017, important foreign currencies (20,000 euros and 13,300 dollars) were seized by Mpack customs’ officers, in the Southern Regional Direction. Currencies had been hidden in the engine of a Renault Laguna. The total amount is worth 22, 721,500 FCFA.

Dakar, Nov. 7 (APS) - On Tuesday 7th, the new Senegal Customs General Director has promised, a "collegial and inclusive" management of the Custom’s Administration for secured revenue and a «lasting and sustainable" growth.
"We will govern collegially, I will never make a decision alone. Together, we will discuss and assume any decision. One should bear in mind that the end of my assignment depends on the President‘s will. It may last two or six months, one or two year at most because I’m old, I had to be retired”, he explained.

Customs officers went in ambush after being informed about suspected goods. On the night 13th, around 2: pm, a loaded cart carried parcels from the small coast. They came out of their hiding place but the carter automatically detached goods and fled. After checking, it turned out to be Indian hemp.
